Dan’s Blog: Round 5, Brands Hatch
Brands Hatch was yet another new track for me on the iForce BMW. It’s a track I loved on the 600 so I was confident for a good weekend.
We had a test at Cadwell Park in advance to the weekend, where we found improvements with the bike and a direction to follow. Friday showed this, fighting for places in Q2 which is a big achievement.
Saturday was yet another positive day, learning the track even more and finding my feet on the 1000. I qualified P20 only 1.7 seconds off the leader, a good result with the limited knowledge.
The 3 races were all about learning, we had some issues with the bike which need resolving moving forward, that’s part of racing sometimes. Coming away with a top 20 finish was definitely a highlight, I showed some really good pace and potential.
Considering my opponents have been racing on these bikes on these tracks longer than my racing career, I think we’re doing a good job. I’m looking forward to improving further and pushing in to the point finishing positions.
I’m confident at Thruxton we can do that, making more steps forward with the bike and myself. Thank you all for your support, it’s really appreciated!
See you all soon,
