Dan’s Blog – Preseason testing done and dusted
Hello everyone,
First of all apologies for the long wait with an update for my website, it’s been an action packed pre-season. So here’s what I’ve been up to:
Firstly I announced my 2020 plans, where I will be joining Lloyd and Jones/PR Racing onboard the FTR Moto2. I am very excited and can’t wait to get racing! I’d like to thank my personal sponsors for making it happen.
Shortly after the announcement, I had a test at Almeria on the new bike. It was a great 3 days, where I met the team and got my first taste of a 600. It was a huge learning curve!
Next up was a long trip to Spain. The first stop was 3 days at Monteblanco for the official BSB test. It was a great testing track, where we were able to learn and gather information.
After Monteblanco, we drove to Jerez for the next 2 days of testing with BSB. The two tracks are completely different, so it was important to gather data once again.
It was crucial to gather as much information as possible, as this is a new bike for myself and the team. We needed to find a foundation to build from. I felt we managed this, which is very important!
To finish off a fantastic test, we had 4 days at Andalucia. This is another new track for me, but we managed to make big steps forward. We improved speed which was the objective.
I feel confident and ready for round one, the team and bike were excellent. I can’t thank them enough for the hard work. We worked through our program and learnt valuable data.
Next up is the Silverstone test on the 1st/2nd of April,
See you there,
Dan
