Dan’s Blog – The Summer Summary
Hello everyone,
Since my last update at Oulton Park, it’s been a busy couple of months, so here’s what I have been up to:
First of all I had my second round of the British Moto3 Championship where I took my first taste of victory, winning race one by 9.5 seconds. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to continue that momentum for race two, crashing out at turn 6.
The weekend after Brands Hatch, I raced in the Wirral 100 competition at Anglesey Circuit where I won all four of my races, and just missing out on the lap record by 0.1 of a second.
The following weekend was round three of the British Moto3 Championship at Knockhill. We showed great potential over the weekend, running in the podium places throughout the races. Unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be, crashing out of both races. This meant there was no points scored for myself.
In between the races above, I also had my Business and Design and Technology A levels. It is important to find a good balance of both racing and studying, as you never know what can happen in life.
To finish off a busy few months, I had the fourth round of the British Moto3 Championship. This venue was held at Thruxton Circuit, a track I have had success on in the past. There was great racing all weekend, with a group of seven riders fighting for the win. I came out with a 5th and a 3rd, finishing only half a tenth off the win.
It has been a difficult few races for myself and team City Lifting/RS Racing, but I can’t thank them enough for the hard work. I’m confident we will be able to return to winning ways soon.
I’d also like to thank my sponsors; City Lifting, Rack Storage UK, Shark Helmets, Rock Oil, Vroom Media, TCX Boots and Furygan!
See you all soon,
