2016 saw Dan Jones become the first ever Standard Moto3 Champion of the Hel Performance Motostar British Championship. With 16 wins over the season he dominated the class and was mixing it with the open bikes too with some top 10 finishes, plenty of TV coverage and podiums. He certainly caught the attention of the commentators and was chosen as rookie of the meeting twice by James Whitham. He won the Bel Helmets FATSBAR Future Award and the R&G Rookie of the season.

“It’s an amazing feeling, I’m the first ever champion of the British Hel Motostar standard class, and I’m just over the moon, there’s no other words for it.” said Dan.

“To say we’re proud is an understatement” says Dan’s father Steve, “What he achieves is unbelievable and yet looks so effortless. The team has worked so hard and it’s all paid off, we couldn’t be happier.”

In November 2016 Dan was delighted to announce that he had received a late invitation to take part in the 2017 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. This was a dream come true for Dan and he is grateful to the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup for the opportunity.

In 2017 Dan will have the amazing opportunity to ride in the Junior Word Championship as team mate to Rory Skinner with Racing Steps Foundation backed KRP team.
